I love dogs and have owned dogs all my life, fostered and adopted them over the years. I started Baile Boarding in 2023 as a part-time venture while I was on career break from my office job as I have always thought about working with dogs in some way. Having two dogs ourselves we found that there was little dog boarding in Galway west.
It was always a challenge finding suitable boarding facilities for our dogs. Also, we were aware that dog ownership had risen hugely Nationally since 2020. We were also aware that pet owner's needs and customer expectations had changed and risen in relation to their doggy family members, that more and more people were looking for a home away from home type of service for their dogs.
We also recognised the urgent need locally for a dog boarding and daycare facility, and although there were good services in the area, they were either at capacity or few and far between.
Our journey: At first we invested in fencing our garden to secure it. As we started gaining customers we added more fencing for extra security and play space, and set up lovely lodgings for our dog customers, insulated, heated bright and clean. We now have a large secure garden and a smaller run for the dogs.
We are fully insured and only board a maximum of 8 dogs. This keeps stress at a minimum for them while they are away from their families and it gives us more time to shower the dogs with individual attention.
We see Baile Boarding as a quiet boutique hotel retreat for dogs and ensure that they are safe, comfortable, loved and happy while they are with us. We are enjoying the journey so far and love meeting new canine clients and our regulars also!
